OVERVIEW:

Nowadays, in the world of connecting learning, the impact of social media on education is becoming a driving factor. The world is becoming smaller, and by the use of technology such as social media, the way we get an education is changing. Social media and education can complement one another if used effectively. It is continually developing new educational possibilities for students. It is now regarded as a learning platform that enhances student engagement and capabilities in many schools. These platforms offer school children the opportunity to connect, get in touch, access information and research.
Social Media plays a crucial role in the education and learning of students in times of pandemic situation.The use of Social media have many advantages in studying because they provide wide access of information and other references.Social media has embedded a negative image upon many minds however it is also perceived as a pathway to develop vital knowledge and social skills among students beyond their campus walls (Wang, Chen and Liang, 2011).
Social media’s acceptance in daily life is one of the driving forces behind these depending prospects and how social media is changing education. It has many positive effects on education. But the same has some negative effects.

PURPOSE:

This study is conducted to address, and evaluate the impact of social media on the students’ academic performance. This study will help the students to determine what are the effects of the social media to their lives and how this may affect to their studies.

DESCRIPTION:


A Sample Random sampling was used in choosing our respondents in Baranggay Kawit, and some are using questionnaires to gathered their opinions regarding to the Impact of social media on the academic performance of the students.
This study may solve and prevent excessive use of internet and social media among students like us, we, the researchers suggest that the school administration should conduct symposium and seminars about the negative effects of too much use of these website. More classroom acivities and workshops may also be implemented during the school year to encourage students not to rely and be dependent on these social networks.
